On to Horecava: Jacobine Muntendam on the exhibition process from A to Z.

Meet our exhibition team!

Just a short week to go and it's Horecava 2025! Following our conversation with account manager Bas Buiten about Bunzl Foodservice at Horecava, we now speak to Jacobine Muntendam, Manager Marketing & E-commerce. Jacobine is the driving force behind the Horecava project and shares her insights on the plans and challenges surrounding this special event.

Bas, can you briefly introduce yourself?

"Yes! I am Jacobine, 31 years old and have been working at Bunzl Foodservice as Manager Marketing and E-commerce since April last year. In my role, I translate the business strategy into marketing, managing everything from projects and campaigns to PR and Sales support. The e-commerce part also falls under my responsibility. I do this together with my team of four colleagues. Horecava is one of the biggest projects I am in charge of. After my induction period, the focus went directly to this event. Last year we were not at Horecava, but this year we definitely wanted to be there to present our new vision."

What was it like leading the entire Horecava project?

"When setting up a project like this, everything starts with a clear strategy. Soon we engaged event agency Pink Lemon to take a professional approach. We took a critical look at what we want to project, our positioning and distinctiveness, which led to a review of our brand strategy.

The result is an impressive stand design, including a large 'blue box' with an Immersive Experience. We even organised special filming days for this. In addition, the stand design had to make it immediately clear who we are and what we can do for our customer. It was an intensive process, but the result is impressive. I am extremely proud of what we have created!"

Why are we present at Horecava again this year?

"It is a very good time for Bunzl Foodservice to create visibility and communicate our new vision. It is the starting point of a new strategy where we as an organisation focus on four segments: hotels, leisure, to-go and catering. Horecava is the perfect vehicle for us to propagate that."

Of course, we have a completely new stand this year. What else is different from previous years?

"The biggest change is our shift from a product-oriented focus to a service-oriented approach. Our added value no longer lies only in the products we supply, but mainly in the services we offer. Sustainability also plays an important role in this. In this, we present ourselves as a knowledge partner and help our customers make conscious choices. The key questions we asked ourselves about who we are and what makes us unique have resulted in a stand that really tells our story."

And what makes our stand truly unique?

"The Immersive Experience is definitely one of the highlights. We show in a very special way how often you come into contact with our products in everyday life. I also think our stand is very warm and accessible, with lots of seating areas, good bar facilities and nice product displays. For this, we worked closely with supply partners.

We are here to facilitate the guest experience in the hospitality industry in the best possible way. Everything for us, and for our customers, is about that ultimate guest experience. You can see that in how we welcome our visitors and how our products contribute to their success."

What are you most proud of when you look back on the Horecava project?

"I am most proud of the strategic foundation we have established. By going back to the core: what makes us unique and why do customers choose us? This not only gives us a strong foundation for Horecava, but also for future projects. Horecava is not the end point, but rather the beginning of something very powerful."
